Ripperoo Parade

Come and join Ripperoo, our Ski & Ride School Mascot, and his Ski School friends as he leads kids in a parade through the Village at Northstar.  The parade will be held every Saturday through April 16th, 2016 from 3:45pm – 4:00pm.  Help them dance their way around the ice rink. Meet at the Kid’s Ski School entrance a little before 3:45pm to participate. No need to bring anything but a smile!

Enjoy a Sunday worship service in the fresh air and beautiful mountain setting by joining us on Sundays this winter from December 20 through March 27 (Easter Sunday) for interdenominational worship services sponsored by Tahoe Resort Ministries and Northstar California.  All services will take place on the mountain at the top of the Vista Chair Lift at the Cross at 2:00 p.m. and will last between 15 and 20 minutes. All are welcome!


Turtleneck Tuesday Skate Nights

Lace up your ice skates, put on your best retro skate outfit and get your groove on in the Village for Turtleneck Tuesdays Skate Nights. Enjoy music from your favorite artists of the 70’s and 80’s on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Enjoy ice skating games, prizes, and complementary face painting!

We will have lasers and lights on the stage/rink during event and a limited amount of glow necklaces will be given out to guests at each Turtleneck Tuesday.

Northstar is pleased to partner with Tahoe's Connection for Families (TCF) as the February beneficiary of Turtleneck Tuesdays. TCF is a parenting education and child development play center for children age birth to 48 months. TCF provides families the building blocks to develop their young children's potential and future success through education and structured developmental play. 

Northstar is excited to donate 20% of skate rentals during the February Turtleneck Tuesday events to this great organization.

Skate rentals are $10. Skating is free if you bring your own. Skaters under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign release of liability. Weather and conditions permitting.

*Please note: Skate Rentals are $15 during Peak Season Pricing (February 12th – 21st) 


Telemark Workshops

Learn to Tele or hone your skills at the Northstar California Weekly Telemark Instructional Workshops!

Telemark workshops feature a morning session from 10:00 a.m. to noon and, with a minimum of three participants, an afternoon session from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is just $85 per person for a day of group instruction with our staff of fully certified Telemark instructors. Participants will need a downhill lift ticket or season pass to join in the fun. Workshops begin and end at the Cross Country, Telemark and Snowshoe Center located at mid-mountain, featuring ski in, ski out access from Logger Loop trail (conditions permitting) and providing Telemark demo equipment for rent.

Valentine's Day Race

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Northstar! We will have multiple activities throughout the weekend including Cupid’s Course Valentine’s Day Race on the EpicMix Race Course. Guests are invited to race against their loved ones and have their picture taken by Northstar’s professional EpicMix photographers. Participants will receive an EpicMix pin by skiing on Valentine’s Day.

Saturday, February 13th   
10:30 - 3:30 Cupid's Course Valentines Race: Challenge your loved one to a head-to-head Valentine’s race and find out who gets bragging rights for the next year! Skiers and riders of all levels are welcome to participate in this fun race at our EpicMix Race Venue. EpicMix Race fees will be $6.

Star Gazing Snowshoe Tour

Take advantage of the dark skies above Northstar on a snowshoe tour and telescopic viewing with star guide and poet Tony Berendsen. The 2 to 2.5 hour guided tour begins at the Cross Country Ski, Telemark and Snowshoe Center at 5pm. The group will meander the serene forest while observing the starry sky above, all while working your way to The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. Each tour will include a laser tour of the stars and constellations, a telescopic viewing using top-of-the-line Celestron telescopes, and a chance to relax around a fire pit with wine and hot cider.
 

Rates are $61/adult, $43/kids 10-12, and snowshoes are available to rent for $20.

Grab the kids and join us for our Family Afternoon Snowshoe Tour; a wonderful way to introduce your little ones to the great outdoors in a fun, un-intimidating, friendly atmosphere. The three hour tours are open to all ages and will be an easy snowshoe for the whole family. Your guide will lead you on a snowshoe adventure through some of our easier trails at Northstar, during which you will stop for hot chocolate, cookies, and snow play! 

Rates are $50/adult, $30/child 12 & under, and snowshoes are available to rent for $20.

Northstar California will host a group wedding ceremony as part of tost on Sunday, February 14 at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be complimentary for anyone who wishes to profess their love, renew their vows or actually be married! Please meet us at the top of the Rendezvous chair lift before 2 p.m. to participate in the ceremony at tost on East Ridge run. EpicMix photographers will be on-site to capture images of the special day. A celebration for all couples involved in the ceremony will follow from 2:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m. at the Cabana Bars, by the skating rink, in The Village at Northstar. Drink specials will be available during this time and there will be
live music on The Village stage from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. for all to enjoy!

*For guests looking to be legally married during the ceremony on-mountain at Northstar, please review Placer County marriage license information found at this link. Guests looking to legally tie-the-knot should bring their marriage licenses to the ceremony on Sunday.

The Mountain Table Dinner Series offers a unique dining experience in our iconic Zephyr Lodge. Each dinner will feature a winery or brewery complemented by a menu featuring locally and regionally sourced produce and proteins prepared by Zephyr Lodge Executive Chef Aramis Torres. Guests will not only enjoy a fantastic menu, breathtaking views and live music, but there will be a few surprises as well! Seating for all dinners will be family style.

Northstar will support Tahoe Food Hub for each dinner of the series, as part of our EpicPromise program. Tahoe Food Hub is a non-profit organization working to restore local food distribution by building a regional food system for North Lake Tahoe. They serve as a foodshed council educating our community on the environmental, economic and social health benefits of a regional food system.

This year put on your best 80’s-style ski gear and get ready to show off your best back scratchers all over the mountain on Northstar California’s Retro Dress Day! Mid-mountain of Northstar California is the place to be with our Pond Skim from 11:30 am-2:00 pm, live music on the Day Lodge deck, food and drink specials, and more! All activities are free to participate in. Please register from 9:00 am-10:30 am on the Gondola Deck the morning of April 4. All participants must have a lift ticket, sign a waiver, and be assigned a number.
